I was delighted to discover that the old custom of a school Daffodil competition continues at Matilda's school. I remember as a child taking sneaky peeks at how my daffodil was progressing in the cupboard under the kitchen sink, willing it to become the biggest most beautiful flower of the whole school. Alas, my efforts were in vain I never did win. So now it's Matilda's turn to look after her bulb throughout the Winter, and wait in anticipation for Spring when hopefully it'll be the biggest and bestest of the school! Well I can live in hope, can't I?
